June 7 - 10, 2012 - Koke`e Hawaiian Music Songwriters Camp

_The Garden Island Arts Council in cooperation with the Kaua`i Music Festival will once again be offering a very special music camp in a very special location - Koke'e State Park!  This camp will focus on writing & composing traditional Hawaiian Mele.
Location:  The CCC Camp at Koke`e State Park on Kaua`i
Cost:  $125 for the 4 day event; CCC Camp dormitory fee is additional $23; all other state cabin rentals on your own

Thursday, June 7, 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm: Check in for rooms; free day for discovering the forest for early arrivals
     6:00 pm: Dinner—Potluck by participants; Intro of staff & participants; Jamming by the outdoor fireplace
Friday, June 8, 6:00 am: Early morning hike in forest; light continental breakfast
     9:00 - 11:00 am: Staff presentations and workshop topics — to be announced
    11:00 am - 12:00 pm: Brunch
    12:00 - 2:00 pm: Staff presentations and workshop topics — to be announced
     2:00 - 5:00 pm: Break out sessions: small group instruction and hands-on songwriting
     5:00 - 6:00 pm: Free time to watch the sunset or socialize
     6:00pm: Dinner; small group performances; late night jam
